Be Her Hype Woman — Seven Days of Specific Praise
Seven days of specifically loud support for a woman in your life — a friend who's about to do something big, or one who's been quietly remarkable for a while. Each day has a minimum that always counts and a fuller version if you have capacity. Specificity over volume.
Specific praise is the only praise that lands. Generic is wallpaper.
Send her one thing that made you think of her.
Minimum that counts: send any one thing today — a podcast, an article, a quote, a clip — that genuinely reminded you of her. Two-line note is enough. “Saw this and thought of you.”
Full version (if you have capacity): curate something specifically aligned with what she’s working on right now, with a thoughtful note about why this — and not something generic.
Say something specific about her, to someone who isn’t her.
Minimum that counts: mention her by name to one other person today, with one specific thing — “My friend X is the kind of person who…” — and let it land in conversation.
Full version (if you have capacity): a public shout-out — social media post, group-chat callout, public tag — with multiple specifics. Bonus points if you get others to chime in.
Send one specific memory.
Minimum that counts: send a one-sentence text recalling a specific moment you saw her strength, courage, or honesty. “I keep thinking about the time you [exact thing].”
Full version (if you have capacity): write a longer note — a few paragraphs by text, a voice memo, or a handwritten card — naming multiple moments you’ve witnessed her at her best.
Ask her advice on one real thing.
Minimum that counts: ask her one genuine question today — small or large — and listen to the answer. Could be career, a decision, a creative choice, even a recipe. Then thank her specifically for the input.
Full version (if you have capacity): follow through visibly. Try her advice and tell her how it landed. “I did what you said and here’s what happened…”
Name one thing she’s good at — to her.
Minimum that counts: text her: “You’re so good at [specific thing]. I notice it every time.” One thing only. Specific.
Full version (if you have capacity): ask about a goal she’s working on that uses that skill, and offer concrete help — an introduction, a resource, time, a skill of yours she could borrow.
One paragraph — about who she is.
Minimum that counts: send one paragraph today — by text, voice note, or email — about a specific quality of hers and why it matters to you. “You’re someone who [specific quality], and that has changed [specific thing in your life].”
Full version (if you have capacity): write the handwritten letter or card. Name multiple qualities, recent growth, your ongoing belief in her. Mail it or hand it over.
Propose one specific future moment.
Minimum that counts: send one text proposing a concrete future moment — coffee Saturday, a call this weekend, dinner next week. Specific day, specific frame.
Full version (if you have capacity): propose an ongoing ritual — a monthly hype check-in, a shared playlist you both add to, a quarterly text-thread audit where you both name something the other did that quarter. The week is over; the habit isn’t.
At the end
Seven days of specific praise. She heard things this week she'll keep — about her work, her strength, her growth. Specific praise compounds. Hype her again tomorrow, and the week after that.
