The story behind it
An oval board of solid maple, 8½ × 11 inches, with the recipe that belongs to your family laser-engraved into the wood: its name at the top, the ingredients and the method as she made it, and a line at the foot, "since 1974" or whose it was. Wheat, herbs and a warm loaf frame the words. A keepsake to hang or stand in the kitchen, not a chopping board. For a wedding, a first home, or a parent who has cooked it for forty years.
